Be An Angel and Support St. Elizabeth's Day Home
We need lots of "Angels" to help St. Elizabeth's improve the lives of children across our community. Proceeds benefit various projects at the Day Home, including facility improvements, program upgrades, and the St. Elizabeth's Scholarship Fund, which reduces the fees that low-income families pay for childcare.
As a non-profit organization providing childcare in San Jose, St. Elizabeth's relies on contributions from many sources to maintain its financial health. Here’s what your contribution can do each month at the Day Home:
- $5000 funds Scholarship Assistance for as many as 12 low-income families
- $1000 provides Scholarship Assistance for two children in a single-parent family
- $500 provides Scholarship Assistance for a toddler and his single-parent family
- $250 delivers classroom supplies for messy and inspired art projects for kids!
- $100 supplies books to enrich our literacy program!
- $50 supplies nutritious breakfast and lunch for one child
- $10 helps too! Every donation makes a difference in the life of a child!
Cash and other monetary Charitable Donations are generally tax deductible, and allow St. Elizabeth's to put your donation to the best possible use.
Each May, we host our "Be An Angel" Benefit Dinner, which combines corporate sponsorships with a lively charity auction. We also have several different ways that individuals and groups can Volunteer their time, and we welcome In-Kind Donations from our official wish list.

Volunteer
Volunteers make a difference. At St. Elizabeth's Day Home, volunteers are part of everything we do. Visit our facility, and you're bound to run into several.
From high school students playing with children, to parents organizing work parties, to our volunteer Board of Directors, St. Elizabeth's couldn't function without volunteers.
We also have an active Family Committee. In 2003, our Family Committee purchased our new street sign to help people find St. Elizabeth's. They have also funded or designed several other projects and activities.
We list our volunteer opportunities with VolunteerMatch, a national registry of volunteers and non-profit agencies. Please review our VolunteerMatch page, or contact us to discuss the difference you can make!
Scholarships
A key element in the Mission for St. Elizabeth's Day Home is making high-quality childcare available to families from all social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. Through the generosity of individual donors, charitable trusts, foundations, corporations, and the United Way, approximately 30% of the children attending St. Elizabeth's Day Home receive financial assistance. Donations are welcome anytime.
To the extent that funds are available, we offer scholarships to help low- to moderate-income families pay tuition. Applications for scholarships are accepted and approved on a space-available basis. Please contact us before applying.
We also accept referrals from local and public agencies, including 4Cs, CalWorks, Choices for Children, and FIRST 5. St. Elizabeth's also manages contracts for subsidized childcare, funded by the State of California.
